Overview
What is Manguo Wetland?
Manguo Wetland is a seasonal freshwater wetland near Limuru in Kiambu County, Kenya. Surrounded by agricultural and peri-urban development, it remains ecologically and culturally important to nearby communities.
The wetland supports groundwater recharge, local flood regulation, biodiversity, environmental education, and community knowledge. It also forms part of the shared environmental memory of people who have lived alongside it for generations.
