🌿 August 30th: Restoring Manguo, Together

On August 30th, 2025, Voices of Change, in collaboration with PREPARED Society, hosted another powerful day of restoration at Manguo Wetland in Limuru, Kenya. This community-driven event brought together over 60 volunteers—youth, local residents, and allies—for a hands-on cleanup, tree check-up, and environmental awareness session.

Participants collected litter, removed plastic waste from key areas around the wetland, and evaluated the health of native trees planted in previous activities. In addition to environmental action, the event featured shared meals, storytelling, and testimonial sessions where community members reflected on the impact of the restoration efforts.

This day wasn’t just about picking up trash—it was about deepening our connection to Manguo, strengthening community bonds, and recommitting to long-term wetland conservation. As part of our growing Manguo Wetland Youth Stewardship Program, the event modeled what sustainable, youth-led environmental action looks like in practice.

Together, we are building momentum for a healthier wetland, a stronger community, and a future where nature and people thrive side by side.
